We first came to Uganda in 2013. We did not know each other at the time. We came to volunteer at two separate organizations; Matt at Engineering Ministries International and Ashley at Doors Ministries. Neither of us had plans of coming or living in Uganda, but as each of us sought to follow God, He lead us to Uganda and to each other.
We became friends, eventually started dating and got engaged shortly after that. We got married at the end of 2015. Now we are here, living in Uganda until God leads us somewhere else.
